Character Creation Quiz Results Poll

I have posted a poll so that we can get a picture of how RPG net readers break down by highest category.

Re: Character Creation Quiz Results Poll

I put "M" as the answer because I get up to 28 there when I do the complex version of the quiz... but in the simplified version of the quiz I wind up with 20, 15, 20 and 20, so it's a little tough to list one as primary there.

I'm tempted to answer "Not remotely accurate" - not becuase the results I got don't describe my gaming style reasonably well, but because a full third of the questions have no response that makes any sense for me.

Re: Character Creation Quiz Results Poll

Had to put not remotely accurate primarily because the choices presented were limited. I know there is only so much one can do, but, having a dragon for a familiar is an inspired choice rather than a mechanical one? Really, just how bad ass are toads in this game?

Re: Character Creation Quiz Results Poll

Well, toads give you a fort bonus which, if you're a wizard or a sorcerer, is major boost.

Guess which score I got the highest. :P (above average in mechanics, below average in everything else with concept being my lowest of the three)

Re: Character Creation Quiz Results Poll

This was a great quiz, and great fun, but I do not feel that it measures what it purports to measure. Still, I sent it to several friends. Perhaps it will work better for them. One of them is an attention-hog/drama-queen, so it will be fun to see if the survey picks this up

Re: Character Creation Quiz Results Poll

Didn't answer the poll, because the correct answer wasn't really available for me. I got anywhere from low average to high average on all of the categories, with no clear highest value. This is further compounded by the fact that several answers on the poll might apply to me in different circumstances, depending on my mood, in a very few cases only one answer seemed appropriate, and in a few others I just put down an answer because my real feelings weren't reflected. If I tried to calculate all the combinations of answers I did consider appropriate (which I didn't... I'm only average on mechanics, not high :P), I suspect I would come up with a different highest category each time. In that sense, I agree with jdagna.

Re: Character Creation Quiz Results Poll

My answer to many questions will vary with the character I'm playing, but I came out as a dramatist, so that may be appropriate.

Re: Character Creation Quiz Results Poll

I came out high in mechanice, but i knew i would before taking the test. My only problem is # 12. i fail to see how these concepts translate into their corresponding traits.

Re: Character Creation Quiz Results Poll

Very strange quiz results. I like the idea, I really do, but I think the execution is somewhat, er, flawed.

The reason? I came out way skewed in entirely the wrong directions.

Inspiration was almost spot on. Sometimes I gravitate to the top spot, where I have plans for my character and sometimes am annoyed when the GM annihilates those plans. And I have come up with bizarre characters who make it into campaigns unaltered.

I'm usually pretty high Concept. 10 pages isn't unusual for my background. I scored very low there for some reason.

I scored either high in Mechanics, if you used the "if you refused to answer #15" rule, or not so high, if I picked Nobilis. The other systems are all way too crunchy, and I've had bad experiences in each of the others with rules lawyers. My hatred of d20 is well-known in my circles, not the least because of some absolutely retarded rules in it. I run a modified form of Risus, optimized for fantasy storytelling. It's way more cinematic, and any character can be created. I have come to really despise rules, unless they help the feel of the game (like HeroQuest). Loot & XP are fine for computer games, but face-to-face interactions should really have something more sophisticated.

Drama I scored low in as well, which again doesn't sit well with me. I love being "in-character," and had a character that talked in an Irish accent the whole time, despite the "Lucky Charms" and "Irish Spring" jokes that would crop up. Plus I remember one recent character who really never rolled for much of anything, but spent much of his time roleplaying his way out of situations.

And I can sort of see where you're going with number 12. I'm not sure it quite adds up, but I can sort of see it.

Just my 2 coppers worth...
