I don't think the auras stack to give 10 damage a round. It would stay 5 damage per round. Of course, the two auras would cover more area and therefore be able to inflict the 5 points of damage on more enemies.

May I suggest you tone down the excellence of your design skills a bit?

"I suggest Ability A as one way to..." would come across much better. Especially when it doesn't take a professional designer to realize your way is but one way to solve the problems you discuss.

In fact, I can envision several easier ways than to add a whole new ability to the entire class of swarms if the objective is merely to bring the Needlefang into line.
