I loved West Wing and Studio 60, so decided to give this a whirl. I'm two episodes in and a bit confused.
It's ok-ish for a sitcom, I'm mostly immune to Sorkin's bouts of evangelization. One thing that drives me up the wall is the canned laughter.
So far, what's keeping me watching is:
- hope that this gets better
- Malina who makes goofy actually funny
- Sabrina Lloyd who I always thought was very cute
It gets much better later, though it does veer from a comedy to that nebulous "not quite a comedy, not exactly a drama, and 'dramedy' is a really stupid name for it" zone that some other series ended up in (MASH comes to mind) by the end of the run.
I only discovered it in reruns after the series had ended, and kicked myself when I realized what I had missed.
And yes, Sabrina Lloyd is very cute indeed.

I liked the first season the best. t's really great for rapid-fire back and forth word play. RandomNerd introduced me to it and we now quote it at random times at each other.

I'm actually of the opinion that the canned laughter was one of the biggest things that hurt that show.
That, and I think people just don't know how to deal with the "not quite a comedy, not quite a drama" genre. Which makes me sad.

I am now physically incapable of using the phrase "champion of the world" without appending "Asia, everywhere". Which was problematic when I was regularly writing about MMA and pro wrestling.
On a different note, give it a couple eps and Isaac is awesomely badass.
