Best Boss Music

Following up on a 'Best Boss' thread, what game do you think had the best boss music? Heck, just list all of the neat ones that you've heard :-)

The Atma boss music From FF 6 was excellent (the very quick drums at the beginning and the music afterwards just makes you feel like you're in WAY over your head.

Sephiroth's music from FF 7... 'nuff said...

I'm having a brain freeze... I can't remember what else!!!!! There's a couple of fighting games with killer boss music... heck, there are a ton of games with neat boss music...

Anyway, whaddya got?

Well for the normal boss battle themes I loved FF7's and Chrono Triggers the best. FF6 was good to as well as FF9. Almost all games have good boss music! As far as best overall my top 3 would be....Final Battle with Zeromus in FF4, Trance Kuja music in FF9, and Final Lavos Battle in CT. Oh yeah, the most epic battle music to me is probably in FFT...they play it the first fight with Weigraf and in a few other battles. I just love that tune. I'm sure I'll think of others later but thats all I got now.

Megaman, or Underworld from FFX (which was boss music, right?)

The Gygas's music from Earthbound. The one with the spooky intro followed by the rock beat.

I like the boss music from Metal Gear Solid, as well as the FF one previously mentioned.

My favorite is probably the final fight music from Final Fantasy VI, though. It's about 16 minutes long and goes through many movements, and is mostly played by a MIDI pipe organ.

I like Rugal's from KoF '94 and '98. None of his other themes move me.

Dancing Mad, the music from FF6's final Kefka battle. Especially the Black Mages remix of it.

I'm fond of the Lavos Core's theme from Chrono Trigger. The wierd flattened-sounding synth-harpsichord riff.

I think my favorite at the moment would have to be Skeith's theme. (.hack)

I think it just fit with the atmosphere of that fight extremely well. It's got this "You are doomed. There is no escaping me. Despair, peon." feel to it. It gives you the feeling of fighting something that honestly shouldn't be, and having to destroy something that... well, couldn't, under normal circumstances.

For impact, the feeling deep in your gut that says "oh shit this is big one and it's gonna hurt," Lavos' Theme and Sephiroth's Theme are my top picks. Not original picks to be sure, but we do seem to have leaders standing out.
