I'm taking the liberty of uploading a little piece she did. Let me know what you think. :)

With your skill at short story writing and her art talents, I figure the two of you might make a great team!

I think it is pretty hotshit. except... well, I've seem to have inherited the mantle of critique curmudgeon.
...giving y'all a chance to avoid the critique if you so desire....
....the wall perspective is not correct. There is a horizon out there, thru the window, and the wall is not jibbing with that. But the handling of the woman's form, the wings (which, btw, I hate doing wings, and therefore, totally respect this endeavor) is wonderful. Give your girlfriend a big well-done!

I picked up on the perspective thing myself. Perspective is one of those things that can rear up and bite you on the behind, if you're not paying attention to it. Otherwise, this piece is lovely. It would be nice to see more, if your girlfriend was so inclined.

Hey!! Give that back! :D
But seriously, I do like this piece as well, and am rather curious myself as to the medium used. I always liked this style of portraying, and maybe one day I'll be able to try this as well as B&W lineart...
tell your GF to keep it up, Crayne!!

It's white paintmarker and pencil on ordinary brown wrappingpaper. She discovered her penchant for it when she was in art college and made a font booklet for the Burton's Nightmare font - she's a huge Tim Burton/Nightmare before Christmas fan. As am I really. :)

Crayne, if your girlfriend isn't doing this stuff professionally she should be...
You should send some work into the big game houses to see if they like it... Who knows, she could go the way of Tony D. and define the look and feel of entire worlds and games. :)
(As far as picking up that perspective thing... I was too busy admiring the feather work on the wings. :D)

I like the feather angel one, looks like a nice tattoo. Simple style.

Actually, she drew her own tattoo. The attached file is what she has on her shoulderblade now... :)

Lovely style. I'm jealous. I can definitely see her stuff in quality games some day if she were to pursue it further...
Loooove the feathers...
