View Full Version : [Diablo II] Horrible game
Broken

Well, I finally finished Diablo II, and decided I'd try it on Nightmare.
What a horrible game it is. I can kill anything with one shot, and likewise, anything can kill me with one shot. It's stupid.
One skeleton with a bow: dead sorceress.
One sorceress against one anything: dead whatever.
And the fact that every named character is immune to at least one type of attack means I pretty much have to restart every level as soon as I get to the guy who's immune to fire.
It's stupid and I'm not wasting any more time on it.

Hell is even more horribler. Can't remember if I ever beat it - no wait, I didn't. I was in mid act V, though.

Nightmare and Hell seem to be designed only for party-play. Real shame.

The thing I found most frustrating was that balance patches were the same for single and multi player modes. What that meant was that when I downloaded a patch for stability issues, I sometimes found that I wanted to go back and change my character and equipment choices a lot.

Quill Rats should not have immunities. Enough said.

The constant gameplay patching is what eventually turned me off to the game as well. After my lvl 45 Jabazon...and my lvl 60 freezing Bowazon...and my lvl 75 whirlwind lance Barb...and my lvl 70 whirlwind sword/shield Barb...were each systematically rendered useless by patches, I gave up.

This is only an issue if:
1) You go to nightmare too early. You should be lvl 50 ish before you hit nightmare.
2) You didn't put any points into Energy shield or Frozen armour
3) You are a sorceress or Necromancer. Everyone else gets a bigger HP boost from each vitality point, with the assassin being the next lowers, IIRC.
Nightmare is where the game begins, as far as I'm concerned. Normal is a warm up.
