Hi, my name is Drew.
I'm a writer, working on a comic book proposal to shop around to different companies. I'd like to find an artist to collaborate with on the project. It's a cyberpunk/superhero book, skill with backgrounds as well as characters is a must. There wouldn't be any payment(for anyone, including me) unless it gets picked up by a company, or we choose to self-publish.
As I said, this is a collaboration, not work for hire. I'm looking for someone with ideas of their own, a partner, who's willing to work with me to make something great. I'd like to see some sketches before I settle on someone to work with(and it'll only be one artist to maintain a sense of continuity in the art), just to make sure it gels with my storytelling.
I can be contacted either here or at my email, andrew.nightdawn@gmail.com

Aha! I suspected that you were working on your own comic book!
I am working on the storyboard for my own graphic novel...dabbling with different styles. My art is far from ready. I've got tons of the story ready to go. Narrowing it down is difficult, but necessary so I know what needs to be drawn and how.
Good Luck.

And, what? I made quite clear that I was working on my own comic book project on Nothingland.
As for your project, that has what to do with me exactly? No offense, but why exactly would you come talk about something completely unrelated to what I'm asking about, in my thread asking for artists for a project? If you want to talk about your project, good, here's a cookie. Take it, and post your own thread. Meanwhile, don't try to act chummy just because you used to frequent the same boards as me, drama queen.
My apologies to anyone else who reads this; this isn't a reflection of the treatment serious responses, or even most people, receive. I just don't like people coming in and making not so subtle attempts to derail a thread just because they don't like what I've had to say on another board.

Nightdawn, please check the tone. These are open forums about freelancing, people are allowed to comment as they wish. If this is related to membership on some prior forum, it would be nice if it didn't spill over here.
Thanks,
--Eric
PS: Solicitation for free work, to the right forum with thee.

Apologies on the wrong forum, wasn't sure which one it should go in; there's the possibility of it becoming a paying gig, but that's contingent on either getting picked up by a comic company, or self-publishing and actually making some money that way.
As far as Gadodel goes, I still don't appreciate him coming into a thread asking for artists, acting chummy when I've made quite clear that I don't like him and don't want to associate with him, and then trying to plug his own project. That's what the "New Thread" button is for; if he wants to pimp his project, he can do it in his own thread. However, I'll abide by the fact that he can say whatever he wants in here.

Oh well, you're entitled to your opinion. It doesn't matter to me what you think, especially not knowing the history behind the "Drama Queen" comment.

Sirfrancisdrake, that's out of line.
Everyone else - please keep any further comments on this thread focussed to the topic at hand - finding an artist for nightdawn's comic.
Please do not drag personal arguments and old feuds from other forums over here.

Can you give me more info on the setting and characters for this project. I'm not an artist, but I've got a few in my group who are (they don't normally post on RPGnet), that might be interested.
Thanks,
Matt
