very cool! thanks especially for matching tracks to possible play situations - i mean, anybody who buys the disc will decide for themselves when and whether they will use the songs, but at least you give us an idea of whether we're likely to buy in the first place.
just for information, the Merseburger Sprüche are a set of Old German spells & charms for things like bee-sting, sprained fetlocks in a horse, snake venom... one of the oldest records of German language, occupy roughly the same position in German cultural history as the Runic inscriptions in Scandinavia.
Corvus Corax are GREAT, I saw them live years back when I used to live in Berlin.

Ok, here is some comment about the language:
Merseburger Zaubersprüche:
>The intro is neuhochdeutsch ("normal" German: "New High German")), rest is traditional, I guess althochdeutsch ("Old High German"), because I understand near to nothing and I can understand Mittelhochdeutsch ("Middle High German").<
Vänner och Frände:
Herr Mannelig:
>I guess its swedish.<
Pavane:
>Yes its french. But not very well pronounciated.<
This Corrosion:
>English. I don´t know with In Extremo, but Rammsteins heavy german dialect is intentional.<
In Extremo:
Werd ich am Galgen...:
Ich kenne Alles:
Spielmannsfluch:
Weiberfell:
>German.<
Santa Maria:
>Spanish, this one.<
The non-german lyrics are traditional and not written by In Extremo.

I am under the impression that "Santa Maria" is in Portuguese, but I do not know.

How the Hell do the Germans have time to run one of the world's economic superpowers AND have time to be anti-social dice-throwing nerds? Greyhawk Greyhawk uber alles!
