Hello all,

Some folks here already know a little about me ( Hi Eric, Rick, Noel, Matt).
My name is Jeremy McHugh. I operate MCHUGH STUDIOS (perhaps the name could have been a bit more clever), up here in Manchester, NH. My studio is above a restaurant downtown. I have worked for a number of smaller publishers in the gaming industry as well as a bit in other industries. I have found though that I am rather isolated here in my Ivory Tower. I don't have too many folks to bounce ideas off of or from whom to get feedback on my work. If you guys don't mind, perhaps you could offer your honest comments. I also would love to comment on the fine work I see posted here, but I should probably toss my own stuff up first. I fear it may not measure up to what I have seen here, but here goes.

I'm new to this forum too, but I joined for the same reasons as you.

Kickass piece, man. Is all of your work in pencil? You've definitely got a handle the medium. Love the mask design too. I always like that sort of tribal look.
Do you have a site yet? I'd like to see more of your stuff.
Anyways, it's good to have you aboard and I look forward to more of your stuff

How's it going? Good to see you made it here. This piece is awesome, sort of has that Heavy Metal feel, back when that mag was cool.
Part of the job description here is that you have to show off your art as much as possible, well done, so far! Chris is right, your drawing skills are looking great. Can't wait to see more.

Thanks for sharing,
Eric

Nice work! Looking forward to seeing more. I'm a sucker for pencil work.

Sometimes, recently, I'm sure this forum has come across as a bit of an art club, with us regular old hacks posting our work. But the real beauty is that it's open to everyone! Hope you enjoy contributing Jeremy!

Hey! GREAT Work!

You know, for those of us with limited artistic skills, but pretentions at improving (some day), I must admit, seeing all the incredible artwork posted here is just awe-inspiring and inspirational.

*chuckles* In the last few days, I've pulled out all my old, dusty sketchbooks, flipping through memories of the past when I dreamed of being an artist, instead of a writer, and have been slowly working on the courage to throw myself back into improving my artistic skills - even if it means that I don't get half as good as others by the time I'm 50!

*grins* Thanks alot, once again, for sharing ;) I love art! :)

Maskedman is a great illo. Wonderful use of pencil. The artist here are a pretty diverse group. Your wonderful mask design makes obvious one of my own weaknesses...

...I can't come up with cool design and decoration for my life. I'm pretty good with anatomy and figures in motion. But coming up with neat designs on clothes...or doing embossing, engraving on armor, weapons and the like...I always have to REALLY think about it and consult reference. What happens is that I usually don't think about it and hence, my cloth tends to be plain.

But again, great intense illo. Welcome to the boards (sounds like the start of a basketball game <g>) and i look forward to seeing more.

Very nice, Jeremy! Do you have a website we could see more work at?

I definitely wouldn't say it fails to measure up! That was an excellent portrait. I used to be something of an artist myself--in high school, people actually commissioned me to draw portraits and animals--but the truth is it's been a long time and I'm not so good at it anymore.

Hey, Jeremy! Glad to see you pipe up over here. Some serious talent floats in these waters.

That masked man is sweet. And for those of you wondering, you should see what Jeremy can do with Corel Paint. His colors are wicked sweet. He's also got massive talent with watercolors, and his inked work kicks ass. In short, Jeremy is one Hell of an artist, and all kinds of professional, to boot.

Jeremy, I just went and checked, and your gallery is still up at RPGAction. So anyone who wants to see more of Jeremy's wicked awesome work can check it right here:

While you're there, look at two other features:

http://www.rpgaction.com/articles/columns.asp?action=column&column=1

Jeremy did the cover art for that column, and he did the interior art for this, too:

My only bragging is that I designed that site.

Thank you for your kind comments!
I must say it is a pleasure to be amongst like minds. I can see that I am going to enjoy hanging out here after a long day. I currently work at the studio from around 9:30 AM to just before I leave for my evening job at an Applebee's ( This is how I keep the descriptive term "starving artist" at bay.
I'm only now putting together a computer to use in my office. Following that, I intend to set up my website in short order. I'm very excited to get the show on!
I work in ink and graphite and am now developing more color work.
The Sorcerer's Soul ( Adept Press) is coming out very soon and The Seventh Seal ( Creative Illusions) is coming out this summer. I love having work in print.
I've attached another sample for your thoughts.
I come from middle-class white suburbia. I think it shows in this B-Movie Zombie piece. Feel free to have a dark chuckle!

Great pictures, you're certainly an addition to the amount of skills we have around here.

Anyways, welcome to the Forum, sir. I think you'll find the people are outstanding, outgoing and at time out of thier skulls, but that's a small price to pay for the insight they give you and the curtousies they extend to you.

Good to see you made it finally, and pretty good entrance as well. I do like pencil drawings, it's probably my favorite medium. Just a piece of paper, a pencil or two and an eraser (better not say rubber here due to the international membership)
Cool drawing. I'm a bit like Storn when it comes to intricate adornment.
Keep 'em coming
