I'd commend Captain Blood (movie, and book by Sabatini) to you in its place, and the book On Stranger Tides (by Tim Powers), if you can find it.

Mmm, yeah, that's definitely my fault. I fully intended to include a note at the end of the article joking mentioning exactly that, but somehow it didn't make into the final edit of the article. I still stand by the film as a excellent source for inspiration though. :)

And the lack of footnotes is my fault. They bug me ;) I couldn't find a smooth way of working them into the page layout, around the "Next Time" blurb. No time for historical accuracy, Doctor Jones!
