Just wanted to say that I'm still very interested in how your game went.

No pressure, of course. :-)

Okay, Rob, here goes:

The short answer is that the Mage's move caused two major conflicts, one within the party, and one outside (he sparked a war between the Immortals and the Mage Order). An NPC whom the Mage happened to be in love with was an Immortal, and she ended up being killed by the Mage's "friends."

The Mage ended up being put on trial by the Mage Order for his crime and punished (he was barred from joining the Order). He watched his allies in the separatist group be tried and executed. Repercussions from the War still affect the game.

The Mage managed to rebuild some ties with the other PCs, though he never regained their trust. During the climax of the campaign, he sacrificed himself so the PCs could escape and was written out of the game.

Walt,
Thank you for the update. If I'd been the Mage's player, I would've really liked that end.

Did you (ah, the wonderful ambiguities of English to the rescue) enjoy it?

We did have fun with it :)

Repercussions from that war are now part of the background of the current campaign, and another player chose a new Mage PC who lost his older brother in the war.
