Converted from Phorums BB System
Although I've never broken down over, the lack of anything really new in RPGs does bother me from time to time. After a while new games, to me, looked like a way to simply re-hash old goodies while the players were monkeying with new mechanics.
I won't say that I or anybody else is making anything new though. I prefer to think of making ideas "fresh" in that we haven't taken a certain tack with a certain genre with a certain game. By trying to re-invigorate something old, making it "fresh" again, I'm freed from the constrainsts of orginality while embracing portions of it.
