But a really cool ninja? I'm not talking "5th ninja from the left in the ninja yearbook picture" ninjas. I'm talking "Lee Van Cleef wishes he was me" kinds of ninjas. "Taught Chuck Norris everything he knows" ninjas. "Naruto mends my socks" kinds of ninjas. "Ninjas don't kill people, people portraying ninjas in movies kill people! Blame Pat Morita!" types of ninjas.

Want to be ninjas who basically act like bad 80s movie ninjas in public, but are in reality a well-oiled machine of death and destruction? Does in-character infighting that would make the Cranes and Scorpions from Legend of the 5 Rings bleed with envy sound good to you, too?

If so, Jizoku no Himitsu on Virtue is for you.

I'm trying to buld an RP/PvP villain group that won't consist entirely of other players from one of the supergroups I'm in, so I want to extend an invite to the RPGnet crowd. Basically this is a clan of ninjas that has a link to one of the characters in the aforementioned SG, and thus is required by ties of family and blood to bring this character into the fold or kill them in the attempt.

Also, I'll be sending out challenges to this other group to meet us in all the lovely PVP zones for fun little throwdowns every so often, so bring your inner Sho Kosugi, chainmail ninja mask and all. I'm not sure about when we'll meet or if there's enough interest to go beyond an Inappropriates-style group interaction. It won't be every night or any other wacky requirement, as I have three other groups to work with and I understand that players have lives, too.

Like with all good ninja, there is a base design for one of your costumes. It's always fun to have a horde of similarly-attired ninjas attacking some poor hero all at once (also known as "Blue Ninja Style" as opposed to "Black Ninja Style" of attacking one at a time.) I will get some screenshots up for costume ideas soon if anyone's interested. If you're interested, PM me, or look for Mother Aoi (villain side) or Cobalt Claymore (hero side) on Virtue server.

I made YukiTora (Snow Tiger) last night, an ice/traps corruptor. I like how she's doing so far.

In terms of the "Team look", I'd say to go with something that falls in the "special ops", Naruto, or Sho Kosugi feel, as opposed to Spandex. A relatively somber GI-Joe ninja action figure look would probably do okay as well. I took a pair of legwraps for boots, tucked-in cargo pants with urban camo pattern for pants, sleeveless robe with mesh shirt underneath, dragon bracers, and a full-face mask with goggles that has my hair sticking out (you make the skin solid black, which also helps with the gloves, take the assassin mouth-mask, bandanna "hat", and large goggles). Worked out pretty well.

The team colors are the two darkest shades of blue, which actually worked out a lot better than I feared it would -- they look so dark as to be almost black, but it's not really THAT dark.

Okay, this here's my vague idea for "the official VG uniform." I put it in quotes because quite frankly, not everyone has anything like this. Now, if you guys want to use these ideas as a basis for your first, second or subsequent costumes, go for it:

I went with the two-tone blue color to contrast with the opposing SG's colors of red and silver, as well as to look shadowy without defaulting to the traditional black of ninja lore.

The hero group we're facing is known as the Phoenix Force. There's a hero in the group whom Mother Aoi has an unhealthy motherly interest in by the name of the Cobalt Claymore (as much as I would have liked to have them face off, that's not going to happen). As far as backstory goes, she is gathering her clan of ninjas to help convince her wayward son to join up or die horribly. Betting men would wager that he won't join.

And no, we won't be going for every powerleveling trick in the book, either, unless by powerlevelling you mean doing things like getting large teams together to run missions or strike forces. The Phoenix Force has a bunch of high-level folks, true, but they can always auto-exemp for PVP zones like Bloody Bay and Siren's Call. I should note that this is going to be a bit more friendly than the stereotypical gankfests found in the zones, so both groups will probably have to find nice quiet corners of the PVP zones in which to setlle their little wars.

Was thinking about replacing the claws and gloves with the chunky bot gloves, but keeping the rest of the ninja outfit which was surprisingly pretty damn close to those posted pics, albiet was wearing a different color scheme at the time.

On the one hand, chunky bot gloves and the glowy energy sets might not be what you guys are going for. On the other hand, I could fit the decoy role of "Hey, look at me! I look (mostly) like a ninja and I'm friggin glowing! Yeah, that's right, keep your eyes trained on me, the freakin' obvious "ninja" and not on the half dozen real ninjas who are sneaking into position to one-shot you and half your team..."

We take all ninjas, except those who use guns. Ninjas who use guns must join the Ninja Rifle Association. So, an EN/En Brute will be just fine. It's good to have a mix of ATs. Just no guns. Otherwise we'll lose our charter in the Ninja Union.

Remember: It's the differences in our ninjas that make us special!
