Ah, Sandy, you have a black belt in geekdom. Reminds me of the time I and several friends laboriously compared our friends and associates to BattleMechs about seven years ago.

Did I just admit that? There goes my credibility. C'est la vie.

Cheers,

Scott L
(I'm a ShadowHawk, by the way.)

I'm not sure if this is more or less distressing, but my friends and I once matched up the _characters_ in our Mechwarrior campaign to those in Aliens. . .

ShadowHawk? Yeah- tall, slim, medium build, medium weight, versatile. ShadowHawk. Not as fast or as bouncy as your garden-variety Locust person (average height 4' 10") and not as slow and mighty as your typical Atlas person (6' and up, 300 pounds plus)

Arggggh- I'm doing it again! Justifying my geekish metaphors! Must subsume the urge!

Cheers,

Scott L

(Although I must admit a burning curiosity as to what sort of 'Mech Dr. Rotwang! would liken himself too...)

I wonder if we could start up a whole Geek Horoscope thing. Every gamers figures out if they are a Fighter, Cleric, Mage....or even better, if they are a Kirk, Spock, Picard...and then publish predictions on RPGNet, viz:

Luke Skywalker:
Those born under Skywalker should buy that RPG they've had their eye on. It's good.

Jean Luc Picard:
With Data rising through your sign, this is a good time to ask a GM for more XP points. He will let you get to the 10th level next game.

Doctor Who:
Watch out for Drow. Lucky dice is the D8, lucky characters are lesbian dwarves or alien psychics.

Gary Gygax:
Today is a bad day to sink all your life savings into your new indie RPG company.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer:
Signs indicate that you will fail all your saving throws today. Use caution, don't open any doors and stay in the middle of the party. Hide behind the dwarf.

Sandy Antunes:
You are a handsome, sexy website runner. Women find you attractive because you are so creative and talented. Start your own religion.

Londo:
God, I don't even want to know what you people are doing. You make me sick.

And so on, and so forth....There's money to be made here, people!

Cheers,
Steve

You are a genius, Steve. If I can't steal your idea and shove you off a cliff, you must do something with it yourself.

Cheers,

Scott L

This sounds like the time we worked out what race me and my friends would be in Shadowrun. I mean it was easy I'm a troll (6' 6" tall and around 250-270 pounds) another friend was clearly an Orc due to his affinity for grunting and bizarre fashion sense. But the best was a friend who was damned sure that he'd be an elf, I mean in his eyes he was stylish, charming and attractive but everyone else figured he was a dwarf, I mean 5' 6" tall and portly!! That has to be a dwarf come goblinization day..... mind you we never told him he'd be a dwarf, we let him delude himself for a while.

I just realised that I can join in the geek parade too...

Long live the geeks!!

Regards,
Stu M.
