Converted from Phorums BB System
Sandy's right, gaming is really pretty cheap.
But here's a thought-provoking little essay on why that may be a BAD thing...

All hobbies are more expensive, but RPG gamers really have it easy in comparison. Miniatures gaming (another passion) -- not only are figures over a buck each now (that Napoleonic corps now represents multiple car payments) plus RULES HAVE GOTTEN EXPENSIVE! $40 to $100 for a miniatures rulebook, and then you have to buy the figures to boot.
Model railroading? (Yeah, that too). Freight cars are up over $10 and a good mass-market engine can be $100. That thirty-car grain train becomes money on wheels.
Suddenly, twenty bucks for a secondhand copy of the WEG Star Wars 2nd Ed (R&E) looks like a bargain.
