Hey guys. Long time no post. I've been really busy lately, but I thought I'd drop in and share this with you.

Its the variant cover for the first issue of the Dragons of Winter Night comic from Devil's Due.

Crap. Totally crap. I've never seen such a piece of...
hehe who am I trying to kid? No, that's fantastic work I'm just yanking your chain ;) The only thing I'll say against it is that the wings look a little thin and weedy compared to the rest of the body, and seem to attach to the body in a slightly awkward manner. That's a very, very minor point though.
By the way, what's the comic that you mention? I'm not a huge fan of fantasy comics but I might give it a look-see purely from an artistic point of view if it's available on the web somewhere.

I don't like the lightning. It doesn't look right - its very diffuse rather than sharp. Maybe this was your intention with the cloud haze muting it out but it just doesn't look good to me. I'd also agree with the relative weakness of the wings but thats probably a choice that you had to make to get the dragon to fit on the page without lopping off most of its wings to have it correctly porportioned.

Love the rest of the dragon and the armored rider though!

nice work, a bit monochromatic, but effective. Im really digging the huge lance.

metalman has a point, for such a cool well done piece the lightning looks unfinished

nice job overall, tho:cool:

A great piece overall. My one crit is that I'd think having such a large flash of lightning directly behind the focus would have a more prominent lighting affect upon it [the focus.]

Awesome!
Great pose and composition. The large brushstrokes in the background does give the impression that the sky is not finished. Thanks for posting.

The highlights on the scales on the dragon are very well done, gives a good, solid and tough feel to the dragons scaly skin, also the knight looks well balanced perched on top.

Great work :)
