When a printer says, "Distilled PDF" what does that mean? IE, what is a distileld PDF?

JAR A little more context would help. It might be that they just mean any old PDF. On the other hand, a "distilled" PDF might be taken to mean a PDF created using Acrobat Distiller, which takes a postscript file (.ps) and converts it to PDF.

I imagine they mean distilled as in "created entirely on the computer" as opposed to a scanned document.

That wuold be when you export from your layout program to a .ps file and then use Acrobat Distiller to create the PDF.

Any software which converts a document into a PDF, Acrobat or not, is referred to as a distiller. So I don't think it's specifically a postscript-to-PDF document that the printer is looking for.

I am not sure what they are looking for...I am not a printer. Call them and ask
