Can someone, please, tell me how to get to Cantha?

I have Factions.
I have been told it's a boat in Lion Arch.
I am in Lion Arch.

Which boat? Do I need to have previously done anything special (like a quest, having a Factions character to a certian point)?

I have asked CS but they sent me 3 links that point to worthless documents (a. you can take a boat to Cantha, b. you can't do it in the pre-release beta, c. has nothing of relevance).

Now, it's been over 24 hours since I posted my question and I've had no further response. I would like to participate in the "Dragon" events but I don't know how to get there.

It's a quest, actually. I think you get it from Sergio (the skills guy), and you go outside to meet someone, and away you go to Cantha. No prerequisites as far as I know.

Thanks, that solved my problem. Although, is it just me or are the "Welcome to Cantha" quests really hard?

Kaieng Center is place where you really want to be level 20 or close to it. If you don't have max armor (available there) then you are pretty much hosed. The stuff available in Kryta isn't going to cut it.

Jontu, the "Welcome to Cantha" quests are actually really easy.

Be sure to start up the quest to go somewhere with Mhenlo. You'll meet him and three other NPCs outside Kaineng Center. You have several quests you can do in Bukdek Byway (immediately south of Kaineng Center), and you can completely roll most spawns with 7 henchmen + 4 NPCs. I let them PL my monk from 15 to 20.

Once you enter Vizunah Square (Foreign Quarter), you'll lose Mhenlo and friends. However, pretty much straight south from KC is the Marketplace. Before going there, you need a quest from Kaineng City - Imperial Agent Hanjo will send you to speak to Bujo (The Search for a Cure), and Bujo will send you in search of Brother Tosai. Don't go looking for Brother Tosai or talk to him when you find him. There's several more quests south of the Marketplace in Wajjun Bazaar, and "Seek Out Brother Tosai" makes the majority of enemies friendly to you. You can complete pretty much all of the quests in the area without needing to fight many enemies - the Jade Brotherhood are hostile, but they're mainly on the docks. There's one spawn you really need to deal with, and that's it. They're three knights, so you don't even have to worry about their mesmer interrupts or elementalist dragon stomps.

It does look difficult, but it's remarkably easy to hit 20 in Kaineng coming from either Tyria or Shing Jea. The area's set up to make questing easy, despite the difficulty of the enemies you end up fighting.

I did all of the above with my Tyrian monk, and had no trouble. I did have some problems in Vizunah Square when I forgot to get better armor and went in with the stuff I purchased in Ascalon (the 30, not the 15). However, despite having four henchmen on my team and 8 on the other, we completed it with the expert reward. After all that, I took my monk back to Tyria and did several missions in quests at 20th level, with armor way too good for where I was. :)

If the Dragon Festival is at Shing Jea, then you may need a Canthan character to do it. ( I need to review the announcement. )

you dont need a canthan char to get to Shing Jea. Just go the docks outside the marketplace.

To me it seems like how hard the quests are depends on which direction you're going.

Older campaign to newer campaign = HARD
Newer campaign to older campaign = pretty easy, actually...

It's been a while since I've moved older campaign characters to newer campaigns, though, so it may be that things have changed, or I'm remembering things oddly... :)

Shouldn't this be in Video Games, not Other Games?

The original thread was started before the split.

I don't remember the Prophesies to Factions quest being that hard, but the Prophesies to Nightfall gave me a bit of difficulty, mostly because the Henchmen were way too low level to be much help (I'm sure an all human party wouldn't have had any problem with it).
