Thanks. 3 are in the que and I am working on the others. I am going to really focus on presenting ideas that expirienced GMs may not have stumbled over just yet.
oh, and your a Pegger? My Girlfriend lives there (her family is from Altona). Love the city.

Ya know, I'm always surprised at how many folks know someone in or around or from Winnipeg!
And, yup, I live right in downtown Winnipeg :)

And I think you'll enjoy the rest of the columns when they post. They're well-written, interesting & insightful. First will be up next Wednesday.

I also am looking forward to the colum. I can always use usful ideas like any good DM. I don't in no way think I'm at the top of my game due to the fact that I have not DM'd in a few years and the whole 3.0 and 3.5 thing has pasted me by. But I intend to soon and any advise on teaching this only dog new tricks would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!

One thing I am going to try to do is find a couple GMs that I look up to and see if they will do a guest column for me.
Right now I am talking with a very good gamer friend of mine who is one of the GMs I helped create. he and I would drive in the car to the FLGS and talk gaming for hours on end, so i finally prodded him to take the plunge and actually GM for once. Since then I have moved away... but he has become something of a GM extroidinaire. Everyone I have talked to says thet really like his GMing and the discussions we have seem to all point to him being a much better GM than me.
So... the master has been replaced by his protege'. I think the insights he could share on his own techniques and what he finds useful (vis-a-vis my approach- which you will learn about)- would be a gold mine.
(Plus, i want to get him more active on PRG.net... ahhh... ulterior motives) :)

Hey Chris,
Good to see you writing again! I too was a freelancer for DP9 back in those crazy Heavy Gear/Tribe 8 days; I too gave it away as life (and better-paying work) muscled in.
I've done basically zero gaming for a couple of years but have recently been thinking about getting back in the saddle, so your column is super-timely. Serendipitous, even.
Star Wars seems a likely starting point for me; maybe then I'll get around to my complete re-telling of the Tribe 8 storyline, from the early days immediately after liberation from the camps to the end. I even started to re-write the rules to better reflect the setting - but that's a conversation for another day.
Did you ever do much writing outside DP9? I did a little for White Wolf but can't really get into the new WoD2 titles at the moment.
Anyhow, I'm looking forward to your next instalment!
Cheers,
M

Hey Michael!
Yeah, I remember you. I loved those early days of freelancing. I learned a lot during that time... not all of it good. ;) I did end up writing for WW for a while and did some side work for a couple other games (nothing creditied). Justin Achilli, it turned out, was an gaming acquaintance of mine from years back and when we ran into each other we exchanged cards and it led to a bit of work. Matt McFarland, bless his soul, threw some Mage Dark Ages stuff my way just as the line was killed.
Its good to see you back in the saddle. Any idea what you are going to run?
