After joining the army, I'm finally getting settled into my first duty station (Fort Bliss, TX). Anywho, I just received my household goods and I'm looking to sell a lot of my old gaming books.

Unless otherwise noted, hardcovers are $15 and softcovers are $10. S&H will be through USPS Media Mail. Most of the books are in slightly used condition while a lot have never been opened. I'd be more than happy to discuss the condition of individual books if you have any questions. My e-mail is Operator17@hotmail.com. I check my hotmail before I check PMs on rpg.net, and its first come first serve, so I recommend e-mailing me ;)

I prefer Paypal, but I'll take Money Orders if that's more convenient for you.

As far as trading goes, what I'm really looking for are books from the new edition of Paranoia, 7th Sea books (not Swashbuckling Adventures), D&D 3.5 Books, or nWoD books that were released this year (I'm a little behind on my collection). If you have any trade offers, please hit me with an e-mail.

I plan on putting up my list on EBay in a week or two, depending on how much response I get from this post.

After joining the army, I'm finally getting settled into my first duty station (Fort Bliss, TX).

Dude, I was stationed there for 6 years in the 90s. :) 3rd ACR 4th squad out on Biggs field with the flyboys.

There used to be an awsome game store on the main strip, run by a little old lady who knew nothing about RPGs. It was huge and had all kinds of cool stuff. Then she retired and sold it to one of her young employees who ran it into the ground :( . Don't remember the name, but wonder if it is still there.

But here is a tip, if you like used bookstores, cross the mountains and go into New Mexico. In Las Cruses is a store called Coas My Bookstore (If it's still there). It's AWSOME! They used to have shelves and shelves of used 1/2 price RPG stuff. Some of it was very rare and unusuall because of all the service men who would trade stuff in. Of course, this was before eBay, so I don't know what it's like now...but worth a road trip.

There's a little comic book store on Dyer street, maybe three blocks out the Cassidy gate. I wonder if its the one you meant :) While its mostly a comic book store (and run by a very cute young woman), they have a wall dedicated to RPGs. While its mostly D&D and D20, there are some real treats in there including a lot of Changeling books and pretty much the whole line of Trinity and Aberrant. That's the only gaming store I've found in El Paso so far, but I'm still looking. I don't have a car yet, so its hard to hunt ;)

I'm still looking for a gaming troupe out here, but no luck yet. I'm with 11th Brigade (1/44 AMD) as a medic. I had a good gaming troupe in AIT, but we've all been scattered to the wind. I was really hoping there'd be some good gamers in the medical section here, but no such luck.

Anywho, thanks for the post, and if I find myself out by Las Cruces, I'll keep my eyes peeled for that store.

Yeah, Dyer street is the name of the road. This one was in the large strip mall on the left about a quarter mile out of the base. It was huge, half of it was an office supply store, but when the kid took over it moved into a smaller store front and ditched the office supplies...but still a pretty large store.

Of course, this was 15 years ago or so. I'm sure the kid ran the store into the ground. He seemed to have all his friends working for him, bad business right from the start.

There used to be another small game store on the other side of the mountains.

I'm sure there are at least one or two good stores there, it's a pretty monsterous city.

From my experience ... I'd say monstrous is the right word :D No offense to any native El Pasoans on the board.

The store I mentioned is not in a strip mall, its a stand alone store. Being a comic book store, the exterior is painted with Spiderman, The Punisher, etc.

Now, I did find a hobby store in a strip mall maybe a mile or so down Dyer. Its in a strip mall with a Korean restaurant and a day care. That place is pretty small though, don't know if its the same place you're speaking of, but its run by a guy who I drew less than a favorable impression of and its mostly junk like CCGs nobody ever played, action figures that nobody liked, etc.

Coas My Bookstore probably isn't that great anymore either...Then everything was 1/2 price, I really found some gems. Now, with the internet and eBay they probably don't get much...and what they do they probably only sell the average to crappola stuff rfor 1/2 price. I'm sure they probably pick out the gems and sell them higher, or just sell those on eBay. :(

I love being able to get stuff easy and sometimes cheap on eBay, but I sure miss the days of spending years looking for certain games, or accidentilly finding a gem at a used books store. Oh well.

Yeah, it didn't thrill me either. Another interesting place was this graveyard close to the border, if you like being creeped out. Apparently anyone can just come in and bury people or something. Me and some friends went there in the middle of the night for kicks (real creapy with homeade gravestones and caved in graves and such) and while we were there a pickup truck of people pulled in with a homemade crate of a coffen and started burrying it.

Don't go across the boarder to drink ;) It may be cheap, but the danger isn't worth it. I got jumped by a gang just over the bridge (for being white or american or a GI, I guess), and if it wasn't for the rescue of a bunch of fellow GIs, I would have taken a knife to the ribs.

Wow! Memories! :)

Spent some time in El Paso during the early to mid-90's myself. There was a rather large gaming scene there. A couple of places that I frequented were JOES OTHER WORLDS, which was just up the street from one of the central malls (and just down the street from a Chicos Tacos and a Weinerschnitzel). The other was a bit more "laid back" and was called PPGs (an acronym for PEOPLE PLAYING GAMES).

Although Joes went the way of the dodo, I always pondered the fate of the latter...
