Hey Stephen, this has been a great series.
I'm surprised there hasn't been more feedback. Perhaps the articles aren't contraversial enough to fire people up, but I've found them to be a well-written resource for people in a larp-running team. Maybe if you were more insulting you'd get more response? Regardless, I think the articles are cool.
I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on how a gestalt might operate differently depending on the type of larp being run. WoD, live-combat fantasy, parlour events, one-shots, campaigns, they all have different requirements. Some events are heavily planned and geographically or chronologically quite linear, others get made up on the spot. Some events run over a weekend, others a week, others only a couple of hours. Some are on-site with lots of costumes and effects, others in a bare room with name tags. Some have players create their own characters, others hand out pre-gens, some have a character workshop approach that's in the middle. I'm curious if you think these kinds of factors makes a significant difference to how a team can run the events, and if so what sort of difference.
Alternatively, how about the question of reforming members of past gestalts into new gestalts? How to choose who to work with again, how to leverage past campaigns in terms of players, equipment, organisers, and other resources? That would give a what-comes-next feel to the end of this series.
P.S. I tried to access this thread to comment from the list at the bottom of the articles, but the link didn't work for me. I got here via the main forum list.
