Okay I know Florida is the retirement capital of the world and these people can fill out a bingo sheet in 3 seconds flat but can't figure out what a bubble vote sheet is........

But please tell me I'm not the only rpg gamer in Florida still interested in paper& pencil gaming. Yes I play video games and I love my Final Fantasy X, but video games are so limiting. Let's look at the reason why paper & pencil gaming is so popular compared to video games... as if it isn't obvious. Not all the money in the Hollywood can compare to the special effects mastery that is so freely available in the theater of the mind.

Back to my point.... i'm just looking for a GM/DM and a few players in my area.... Okeechobee county, South Florida. For my sake if you know where that is and are in any way close to me email me PLEASE. mcweezle@gobot.com ..It would really be perfect if you played palladium games too!!

...but I live in Lake County which isn't that close. I've been here 3 years now and haven't played anything... at all. I imagine I could hunt up a group through the local game store, but that's still a 90 minute haul (for me) and I'm just put off by the thought of weeding through various folks 'til I find a group I mesh with.

Good Luck from one who has given up looking.

Perhaps you two could set up a PBEM? But only for players in Florida? :)

I'm in Florida, but I'm over in Jupiter (not the planet; a fairly nice little 'burb just north of West Palm Beach). And yes, gamers are rare as hen's teeth over here. I seem to have snagged all of them within 50 miles. Well, all the ones that aren't creepy, anyway.

Mr. McWeezle,

Since it looks like you can't get together on a regular basis, why don't you arrange a "mini-con" and get people together for a weekend. Renting a roomor two at a central location (or rotating one) shouldn't be too great a cost.

With the amount of seniors there, community rooms should be available for rent. (up here it's universities) Get some prices and see if the group is willing to pitch in. A weekend should be fine for a gaming fix and if you can reserve a block of rooms at a local motel all the better. You have the internet and a telephone to work with.

We like to brag how inventive (and fanatic) gamers are--is it true or an idle boast?

I'm in West Palm and we have a moderate sized roleplaying populace. It basically breaks down into two major factions Those at the hidden guild (a local, shoddily run game shop that charges for table space) and those not, some converse between the two. and members from both groups attend a weekly Vampire LaRP.

Plus there are a bunch of CCGers and wargamers too, but we shun most of them.

Jupiter Fella and anyone else that is willing to make the drive, feel free to check out our vampire Larp, currently the website is at http://nerds.at/westpalmbynight or http://kickme.to/westpalmbynight though, probably shortly after the fifth of may it'll move to westpalmbynight.com or something like that.

I've also talked to several roleplayers from Wellington.

if you don't want to play vampire larp but still want to talk to another florida RPer, feel free to e-mail me at jomac2k@bellsouth.net for more info on that game or any other we may be playing.
