Well, the Wiki's survived another year. (Then again, I'm writing this before midnight, so there's a chance Shannon will spill champagne all over it, but I'll just assume it's OK. :D )

At the moment the most active project is the Motivational Posters project, the one in which we're attempting to archive the posters posted to THE THREAD!!!!1!!1! (If you know the thread, you know what I mean.) Many, many thanks to the folks who have stepped up and transferred large swaths of the thread, in particular roguebfl, One, and most recently Tjoneslo--but we still need many more, since the thread is averaging roughly 75 posts per day(!)

Second place is various game logs, such as "Forgotten Freedom", "Midnight" and "Project Vigilance" (lumping them all together as one "project").

Personally, I've been mainly de-spamming and maintaining. Shannon's tweaks to the Wiki code are keeping most of the blatant junk off, though the occasional random number spam and/or porn site link slips through. A quick reminder of our spammer policy: if you know, suspect, or run across a spammer in RL, please messily kill them. If you record and upload it, you could win some XP! (OK, no, but the messiest kill will get our deepest respect.)

In addition, the Wiki still has that glitch where the searchindex gets "clogged" periodically and needs to be rebuilt. (Not that I'm blaming Shannon--it's the damned code.) I do have a little 'tweaker' on the machine that enables me to fix the DB--when it's working. (Right now it isn't.) If you do see the Database Error message, remember, your edit probably did go through--you can use the 'Recent Changes' page to check.

I do help when I can, so if you have a problem with the Wiki, either post here or send me a PM. Replies to this are encouraged, as well.

Well, it's after midnight, and nothing's emitting smoke. Happy new year.

I'm doing the best I can, the meme has eaten my brain and I can't stop...

Now that I understand the problem, I am much happier working around it. If there is some way I can help fix (or alleivate) the problem (other than by not posting), I'd be more than happy to help. This slows down my ability to post posters to the archive.

Happy New year.
