I like it. Bizarre, evocative, twisted all in a short brief.
One thing I did think was missing was an explicit section on what kinds of characters would be appropriate. There's suggestions in there (nahauls, warrior-scientists, priests, survivalists, etc), but it's pretty much up in the air.
What did your players go with when you played this one out?

I expected them to follow the leads in the Pick Me Ups (as you said: Mayans, low-techs, salvagers), but two of them wanted to play bloodthirsty, Mexica priests. I made them leaders of a Toltec splinter faction. One of the others went with a kung-fu Nahual cyborg and the other created a gizmo-laden technomonger.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I am seriously digging the smartguns with the explosive guided bullets. This kind of thing practically screams for a Nahual gunslinger who blows away bad guys like a Grammaton Cleric from Equilibrium (or like Milla Jovovich from Ultraviolet).
