I don't know if there is a way to add pictures to your columns, but it would help and probably save you a bit of writing too.
One thing I like to do when pinning bigger pieces is to place a bit of kneadatite on one half and a touch of gel glue on the other. Press the pieces together and use a hobby knife to trim away the excess. Creates a good tight bond, with nice gap filling properties. Try it - you'll like it.

You should have mentioned the dangers of using a rotary (i.e. Dremel) tool. The RPMs on them are insanely fast and since pewter (or lead, depending on the age of your mini) is soft, you can overheat the mini very quickly to the point of ruining it - especially if you're making a hole to put a weapon in a hand or pinning. The pin vise (as you mentioned the use of) is the way to go.
Way too wordy! Many nuances are lost in the seas of text.

I avoided kneadadite use to keep things simple, I'm going to be taking about its uses later when I cover conversions and other build methods.
I mentioned the dremel tool only to try and be complete about tools. I should have mentioned dremel safety.
I would like to insert pictures but lack the html knowledge or the webspace to do so. I had to be shown how to put the links in the first article. =D
Thanks for reading it and the advice.
