The starship attack numbers in d20 Future are confusing me

The sample starships given have to-hit bonuses (well, penalties) that don't seem to follow the equation given earlier in the chapter.

Is there a line somewhere on multiple weapon systems, or something, that I've missed?

No, you've just stumbled into one of the worst editing jobs WotC has ever done. Head over to the Wizards/D20 Future boards and ask about the patch--at least three people have completely rewritten that section.
