Marcus,
Once again, another thought provoking article.
One question, just curiosity... What's Titan Games' "bread and butter"? What keeps the lights on and pays the staff? I'm talking about merchandise category, not sales methods. I've been following your columns as you diversified, and I'm really wondering how that's working out.
For instance, I've talked to "Barbwire" Bob at Source Comics and Games in St. Paul, MN, and he's very upfront that "Comics and comic collectibles" are what keep things going, and he carries game stuff 'cuz he's a gamer. Not that the games don't sell, but you know what I mean.
Likewise at my Friendly Local Model RR shop -- the 79-cent airhorn and $2 bottle of paint don't keep things going, it's the $250 locomotive.
So, (if you're willing to say) what keeps Titan Games going?

Hi OG,
What keeps the lights on? Well, it is a shared thing. While games is a small part of what we sell in the store, it is a MAJOR component of what we sell online.
So: Ebay sales are mostly used or liquidated games.
Retail sales are mostly DVDs and Video Games.
Convention Sales are mostly liquidation and used games.
Titangames.com sales are mostly used games, but a LOT of new ones, too.
3FREEgames.com sale are nearly 100% liquidation stuff.
:)
