Giants is a game being developed by a friend of mine, Jeff Lower. It will be part of the Ashcan Front...

Sketch got approved yesterday... and here it is...

Over the next week or so, I will do the underpainting, then take it to digital to do light washes. I'll try to provide a few interim steps as I go along.

That link was... confusing. Not at all sure what this Ashcan concept is about - sounds like a mostway-finished game up for grabs, but... argh, no, I don't get it. It's probably because I'm ill (I'm down with chicken pox right now and it's playing tricks with my mind.)
The sketch, on the other hand, looks awesome. It's nice to see the characters doing something constructive for a change rather than just beating the snot out of each other, and this is a very evocative shot I think.
Mostly it looks great, but I can't quite make out what that is on the clifftop just above the giantess' right knee. Is it a statue? Some kind of support pillar? It can't be a human because it'd be way too big. I expect it'll all become clear when it's complete, but I'm curious.

Yeah... that was blob was supposed to be a statue.... I think it is a bit clearer in the underpainting.
Anyway, onto the next step. Here is the underpainting. Do a little Arthur Bell and the Drells... the ol' "tighten' up". Now comes the digital color part and the real work begins.

Hey Storn, looking nice. So, are you doing traditional underpainting with digital finishes now? Sounds like a neat idea, if so :)

Looking good and I look forward to seeing more. The digital with traditional is a good idea ... I did it for a while, got away from it and I am trying to get back to doing it a bit more.

Ahh yes, looking much better. My only concern now is that the giantess' right elbow looks a little wrong. I preferred the position it was in on the sketch. Where it is now makes it look like her arm is really, really short.
