Nice!

For anyone wanting to flesh this out a little more, or add some twists to surprise players who read RPGnet, I'd recommend Roger Zelazny's novel Lord of Light (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lord_of_Light).

I like! I'm still surprised (in a good way) at how much setting can be squeezed into so few words with each of these columns. Is that good editing at work, or just concise writing?

In this one I particularly like how societal strictures and the harsh environment reinforce one another. Plus who couldn't love the injection of a little wire-fu courtesy of the Xen Nullists?

It's 100% concise writing, my friend. I am burdened with an excess of brevity, which is seriously hindering my non-fiction. (I tend to under-explain technical concepts and, ya know, writers are paid by the word.)

I just need to study under some quality blowhards, methinks.

Also a big fan of the Xen Nullism myself. The whole bit about learning to "control the illusion" in particular screams "Matrix."

Yeah, Fading Suns meets Technomages and the Matrix. Nice stuff.

I thought that briefly, too. :D

Hey, someone else just read Roger Zelazny's Lord of Light (http://www.amazon.com/Lord-Light-Roger-Zelazny/dp/0060567236/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-9920699-1543327?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1183740691&sr=8-1) recently, too, I see. :) I finished it just last week.

!i!

Actually, I've never read any Zelazny, but now I may have to pick this one up. Two Wushu Skidoo fans can't be wrong.

You have shown us this before but whatever, My opinions.

So basically its Tekumel meets the matrix with a little bit of Osamu Tezuka's "Buddha"? I also am detecting a hint of Exalted.

Am I right or am I right.

I cannot answer your question, as I have no idea what you're talking about. In a general sense... yes, everything can be boiled down to a derivation of 2-5 other things, if you're willing to overlook enough of the specifics. There is nothing new under the sun, yada yada.

If you've been to my website, you may have seen Karmic before. It didn't survive the recent redesign, however, so consider this its new home. I like this format so much that I'll probably repackage another oldie but goodie later this year: Stardust (tho I may change the name to avoid confusion with the works of the esteemed Neil Gaiman).

Well that was more of a statement than a question. And It probably cam out more brash then I would have liked.
