I like the sound of Firewater Productions Presents! It's a mouthful, but it sounds good.

You could flip the word order and go with "Mastering the Game" or "Master of the Game".

True... my first book will be vegetation and the use thereof, then Atlantis, then probably the development of civilization, followed by geographic formations and landscapes.

Mastering the Game: Atlantis or Master of the Game: Atlantis seems unclear as to the content though, compared to FireWater Productions Presents: Atlantis....

I'm not sure I like any of the suggestions so far, but I can't think of a better alternative. I think it's because I've never been fond of the sound of 'Games Master' as a term. If I were to go with anyone, I'd say "Firewater Productions Presents" but I prefer it without the exclamation mark, not only for grammatical accuracy but also because the hyperbole inherent in the misplaced use of an exclamation mark makes me think of snake-oil salesmen.

I could try throwing in "Sourcebook" instead.

FWP Sourcebooks: Atlantis.

My column is "The Vegetative State of Your Campaign...

Maybe I should call the series "The State of Your Campaign," or "_______ for Gaming."

or "Designing Your World," or "Making Your Setting Work."

Anything?

I'm not clear on the content that'll be in the books. Are they setting books? GM advice books? World-building books? Toolkits? Fluff material?

I'd think a 'how to' book on vegetation or landscapes or civilizations would be a different animal from a setting book on Atlantis.

Could be.... But the concept will be a bit the same.

I asked Shannon if I could turn my column into a more complete book. The column is skipping things left and right due to space, so a more-complete guide to using all sorts of plants in your campaigns was the gist of the whole scenario.

When I asked people what they'd go for, a bunch mentioned that they'd love a complete books on "everything Atlantis," not only the rumors and estimations, but how to utilize Atlantis in every type of genre, which is what I've been trying to do with the plants.

There's a bunch of books on various subjects for the NOVELIST. But not the GM who's building his own settings.

So that's what these books are: World-Building Sourcebooks for Game-Designer, Home-Brewed or Otherwise.

That's not the catchiest title I've heard, but it's probably the most accurate.

Everything is put into universal gaming terms and supplies a crap-ton of adventure hooks, background ideas, concepts for developing campaigns, and such.

Ah, ok. So they're like cookbooks or recipe books or the like?

I kinda like "FWP Presents: ____"

Flora
Atlantis
etc

Yeah, kinda... Like if you had the gastronomy of chocolate. From history to recipes to sculpture.

Don't write them as if they are game suppliments. Make them look like actual travel guides. Something Rick Steves would write for PBS, all done with a first person perspective.

The Frugal Traveler Visits Atlantis

You could put the 'Firewater Production Presents' above it in smaller script, to brand the line, but write about it as if it were a real place your readers would be able to drive to and visit with the family for an afternoon. Your 'frugal traveler' would visit interesting places, share amusing anticdotes and personal experiences with the reader, even comment on the cuisine and unique elements of the culture.

Damn... I'll have to steal this for MY game! :D

I'll second this. I have a line of books where I present real world oddness in game terms. People were really impressed by the fact that they really could use the books as travel guides. Hell, one of my books even gives instructions on where to go to get a hiking permit so folks visiting that area won't get ticketed for parking along the side of a road.

It works with the Atlantis one. The rest of the series are different though. More world-building, encompassing texts.

Two then.

One FWP Presents: that does legendary places and is more like a Travel Planet Guide.

One FWP Presents: that takes on subjects that can crop up in creating a game setting, more like the Discovery Channel version. Like with the flora.

Whee. Now I gotta get writing, eh?
