I've posted this in a couple of threads, but it might be easier for people to find it if the topic is out there on its own. Sorry to those who've already seen it.
Here's what I remember from the Gencon announcment show.
Player's Handbook - May 08
Monster Manual - June 08
DM's Guide - July 08
Every physical copy of a book has a code that can be entered online for:
Free electronic version
Expanded content (designer notes, designer interviews, articles about the book, etc.)
(I think) Dragon and Dungeon magazines going online:
Article every three days
End of the month the articles are collected into an electronic "issue"
Core rules go to level 30.
Claim they're getting rid of rules and concepts that grind the game to a halt such as grapple.
New power sources (similar to Book of Nine Swords)
New resource mangagement (something about not having wizards useless after spells or making the party grind to a halt once the cleric is out of healing spells)
Redefine core roles among characters (something along the lines of making sure the fighter isn't useless)
D&D Insider:
Online map with miniatures
Players control their miniatures
GM controls everything on the map
GM can create the map and modify it
Players can create characters online and store them including portraits (which can be turned into the player's miniature for the maps)
