I am curious about how selling with Paypal works and their site doesn't help much (or I just ain't gettin it). I have a PP account for buying, but if I wanted to accept payments what would I do? And what are the fees associated with it?

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

Basically, in order to accept credit cards you have to upgrade your account. Then they charge you .30 + 2.9% of every payment you get, including your shipping costs.

Alright, so there is an upgrade/account change required. Okay.

Thanks.

But only if you want to take credit cards. If you want to accept transfers only, no upgrade is required.

It's a free upgrade. I think all you have to do is get verified. I might be wrong on that, though.

You have to give them a bank account number (unless things have changed over the last few years since I set mine up), but otherwise there is no fee or anything (other than the little cut they take off the top of each payment).

Be carefull though, once you do this, everything you make a payment it takes the money first from you paypal balance, then from your bank account, then from the credit card you are using in your current account. If you set up an account just for paypal and keep a small balance in it you are likely to accidently drain it and have to pay an overdraw charge. When you make a payment there are options as to where you want the payment to come from, make sure to change that to wherever you want it to come from.

Just a tip.

Basically, get verified, then (or even now if just transferring) I'll be able to create a bill of sale/whatever they call it, and I'll be able to sell stuff in places other than Amazon?

I am curious because I purchased an item from a seller and the money was sent to an email address. Wading through their website did not really help me figure out how that was accomplished.

Thanks, all.

Basically, get verified, .

Yes. Follow the "get verified" links on eBay and you'll find it. I'd take a look myself, but I'm on my way to work. It's really easy.

Cool, will do.

Thanks.

Gotta roll out myself.

At least it is Friday :)
