When I select "Visit Your User Page" and select one of the links (Own or Want), a majority of the items have drop down ratings selection lists but there are a few that don't. A quick look at the source HTML and I can see that that line is missing from the entry.

I know I've only rated a couple of items and these aren't the ones I rated. Don't know if it's a bug or not.

It has to do with multiple editions. Currently, if there are multiple editions of a book it doesn't show the rating box because I didn't want to cause confusion.

The way to polish that up requires some tricky HTML (and AJAX) to set the flag for all the editions simultaneously, and would be nice to do at some point.

Has there been any thought given to allowing users to rate editions individually, since some games change rather radically from version to version?

Yes, there's definitely been thought.

It would take some time to do.

But there's a real question of how to encourage people to rate editions when appropraite and books when appropriate, though the answer might be to just give them exactly even weight, but offer up ratings for both the individual editions and the game overall.
