Why did you book a hotel room before registration? The way Gen-Con usually works is badge registration, then hotel registration and finally event registration. Booking outside the hotel block is usually more expensive then waiting for the mad rush that is hotel registration.

I booked so I could get the room I wanted... It may have cost me 20.00 more a night (homewood suites)
