Just wondering what people think of Orcs & Elves (http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ds/orcsandelves) for the DS. Looks kinda cool, in a "pick up and kill a few minutes" kind of way. Are there save points, or can you quit & save anytime? My DS gaming centers on ten to fifteen minute spurts, but the game looks like enough fun that easy saves are not a must.

Anyone got it? What do you think?

I've really enjoyed it so far, have played it for several hours. You can save at anytime. The game is pretty much a throwback to Ultima Underworld or Eye of the Beholder type games.

I sat and played it for hours at a time one day. It's a lot of fun, if you're not looking for state of the art graphics and so forth. Just fun, simple game design and decent writing.

I picked it up on a whim last year. This whim turned into several days of obsessive playing. It's really a lot of fun.

Basically zero replay value but it scratches that old school CRPG itch. The first time I took a step forward I smiled--it reminded me that much of Bard's Tale.

There's basically zero depth to it, but it has a fun plot, has exactly the pacing it should have for a game of that type and the graphics are appealing in an old-school gamer way.

This game originally came out for cell phones and I thought it was pretty awesome. I played it for a few days and finished it with a satisfied feeling.

For some more interesting play in the same vein (but it still may be for cell phones only) is the Doom game made by the same people. It has the same control scheme and is really fun.

I played in on my phone, not the DS, so I don't know the difference. Screen shots look the same anyway.

eh. It was alright. Definately no replay value. No classes, races, etc that you expect from most rpgs. You are who you are--average in all stats. Limited selection of weapons and items too.

Turn-by-turn, Dungeon Master-like, brainless fun dungeonbashing. And you can save whenever you want. It's entertaining, but try to pick it up in a bargain bin.

I found it too simplistic. With Etrian Odyssey on the same system it just seemed unnecessary. Not a bad game - just nothing amazing or too interesting.
