Totally agree here. I work for a company that's selling franchises... and we have a hell of a time getting the Franchisees to understand this simple fact:

"You can't take Margin to the Bank. You take DOLLARS to the Bank."

The guys that grasp this simple idea becomes success stories and their franchises easily top a million dollars a year within their first two years.

The guys that don't? They lag at half a million a year, bitch about always being on the cusp of being out of business, and then finally sell their franchise at a fraction of what it would have been worth had they grasped that Margin =/= Dollars and used that fact to grow their business.
