It's definitely an interesting take on the genre "ship show". It doesn't have the immediate X-meets-Y hook of Gateway but it does suggest possibilities.
Another source I'd suggest is the 2000AD series Leviathan, set aboard a huge Edwardian liner which was lost in the seas of Hell.

Not everything here will be high concept. Although some of them certainly will be.

I liked this concept a great deal - one minor typographical correction, though, it was Joseph Bruce Ismay, not Islay.
That aside, it's an intriguing setting for a game! Thanks for sharing it! :)
