Very nice review and the game sounds like fun. I do have a couple questions.

If the "steal" card also functions as a "take" card, does that mean that there's no provision for a "hit and run" (which I suppose would be as if the "steal" card acted like a "swing" card)?

What sort of variation are there between the players? I know you don't get Ken Griffey, but do you get some sluggers and some contact hitters and some speedsters and some well-rounded? What's the distribution like?
