I started a Pathfinder game recently, or rather, a 4E game in the Pathfinder Setting. I'm using the Second Darkness adventure path as a game template, as I have limited preparation time and am going to rely on it doing the bulk of story/situations handling while I handle converting it all to 4E rules, and filling in the blanks as appropriate to interest/engage both the players and the characters.

Characters:

Leonas Brigg:
A vagabond eladrin with a greedy bent, who cannot think about the consequences of his actions. Very clever, and can come up with plans that work for five minutes from now, but has no idea how things will play out after. Somewhat like Jack of the Fables- many a get rich quick scheme, some work, but it all gets lost soon enough. Essentially a rogue at heart, in the first session he 'inherits' an egg-like artifact via gambling, that gives him magical powers like a Wizard. The item, however, is cursed, and he cannot get rid of it; Ouiji board style, it comes back to him no matter what. Using it stimulates a random chance of being cursed, of which I roll on a d20 and let him know what happens based on a chart I made up. Thus far he has yet to experience much of this.

Rurik Brigg:
Leonas' brother, a mighty beast of a half-elf who has some semblance of reason, and takes care of his brother. Easily led, which is why he agrees to go along with Leonas' schemes, but helps to pull his brother's bacon out of the fire. Both of them have gutter-like accents, though Rurik's for some reason is more Russian. They started wandering the land as an acrobatic performing duo years ago, with Rurik being the strongman. He also tends to get the groceries. Both of them have recently impressed the establishment at a certain Gold Goblin Casino and are going to be performing at the opening Gala. Rurik is a modified fighter, who is slightly like a monk in that he is a fist fighter (we say he is using 'gauntlets' as a weapon).

Callin Seivus:
The Brigg's human cousin (???). An actor by trade, unsuccessfully, and a native to Riddleport. He is currently squatting in an abandoned tenement where he is now housing the Brothers Brigg. Very adept at assuming different roles on the fly, from a doomsayer to a manager, which he currently acts as for the Briggs. A cleric of Sivanha, a goddess of trickery and deceit, he knows the value of the Veil- that all things are on the surface, concealing a hidden truth beneath the lies. You know, an actor.... who is a little pretentious about it.

Morthane:
A warlock working with the Cyphermage Lodge as a PR representative. An initiate, he doesn't get to do what he wants, which is study the local ruins, partly since he's not actually a wizard, and mainly because he's new. Highly charismatic, he has recently explained off the top of his head that the recent shadow in Riddleport is a natural atmospheric event, which that jackass Blakely seems to have taken credit for. "Blakely's Shadow" and Morthane's explanation now are the standard line about the matter in Riddleport. He encountered the group in a strange bar with little play, and has been experimenting on this cursed artifact in the meantime, mostly by hitting it with rocks. Despite being the sole professional and authoritative person in the group, he seems to get along with these vagabond hobos.

Made Up Locations:
The Broken Door (aka, the Back Door):
A local gay bar. I mean, it is a town for sailors. Morthane unwittingly entered the place and was hit on a lot, much to his discomfort. That he wound up in the lesbian bar nearby and received much less attention did not help his mood, though he did meet a certain Ms. Parmenter who invited him to the Gold Goblin Gala.

So, that's it for now. I'll let you know how the first session went later; essentially, it was all prologue a month before the opening of the Gold Goblin, we didn't get to the stuff in the first adventure path book for it yet.
