I was reading through the excellent 3.0 Forgotten Realms sourcebook the other day and a thought occured to me.....

It's not traditional fantasy. If anything it's slightly medieval-flavored superheroics. The Harpers are basically that world's Justice League- Drizzt is the dark avenger of the night, Batman Style hero, Elminster is the top-hero with unlimited powers, ala Superman....

Anything goes in terms of character creation. Want to play a Drow, a Tiefling, a Minotaur, a good-hearted troll? Go ahead? Want to hit epic level and have a torrid affair with a goddess? No problem with that at all. Want to kill a god and assume his divine role? Good to go, and hope you roll lucky son, because you're gonna need it!

With that in mind, has anybody ever ran a Forgotten Realms campaign using the Mutants & Masterminds system? I'd imagine a starting PL 10 character to be roughly equal to Drizzt or Wulfgar, while the truly epic things like Elminster and Szass Tem (however you spell it) would be around PL 30-40, maybe even beyond.

I think it'd be a fun campaign, one that fully embraces the goofy, high power, faux-medieval, major NPC-lovin' nature of the Realms.

Thoughts?

....Dear heavens, I love it. I'd put Drizzt at PL 8 and Eliminster at PL 16, but that's because I've read too many PL 15 Supermans at over at Superlink. I'd be afraid that too many of the characters would look very much the same, but I don't really have too much play experience in the system.
