In Crypt of the Shadow King, which I missed entirely, what exactly was the Shadow King? Also, was this the creature depicted on the cover of the book and, if not, what was that creature?
v. curious...

I bought it from Amazon for a penny about a month ago to re-read it, as someone suggested in your other post.
I originally read the book years ago, but yes, I believe the thing on the cover is the Shadow King. (I recall, lo those many years ago, feeling pleased that they accurately represented the cover art with something from the book.)
On the other hand, I don't remember the details of the Shadow King. (Hey, it was over 10 years ago!)

A rare and wonderful thing indeed.

I've managed to gather that the "Shadow" bit represented some sort of shadow/darkness manipulation. Some sort of Plane of Shadows thing? Or perhaps Lower Planar?

Well, see, now you're going to force me to read it again just so I can remember.
