So we're going to pick up a Wii later this week, along with a couple of extra remotes and nunchucks, Rock Band 2, and Wii Fit.

Are there any other accessories ya'll consider to be "must-haves"?

Also, if you can recommend some good, family friendly games - preferably ones that can be played by 3 people simultaneously! - that'd be very cool. :)

Wii Sports Resort is a fun game.

Boom Blox is far, far more fun than it deserves to be.

House of the Dead: Overkill is an experience. Maybe not a great game, but hey, it's going to get a Guiness World Record! You gotta play that! (Record for: most profane video game in history.)

That doesn't sound even remotely family friendly. I suppose that depends on the family, but I should point out that I'm not really that interested in my 7 year old hearing a world record number of "fucks".

Mariokart Wii is probably a good choice. It supports 4 players is family friendly and is a lot of fun.

It may depend on your definition of family friendly but Super Smash Brothers Brawl is another good multipler game.

I hear Rayman Raving Rabbids and Excitebots are also quite fun and they again support up to 4 players.

Wario Ware : Smooth Moves, find it used its pretty fun. About 200 minigames in rapid succession. Get rechargeable batteries of some sort. The Fit takes 4 AA's and the controlers take 2 AA's each.

Definitely get rechargeable batteries, or expect to pay a lot for disposables; we run through them very quickly! We also play Wii Fit a lot, it's not really a replacement for the gym, but it is addictive - I recommend getting a rubber cover for it if you do play a lot; easier to clean and you get better traction for the step games.

I've lost a lot of hours playing MarioKart with my wife and sons...it's remarkable to see the kids improve with time.

You might also want to check out the Mario Party series; we have Mario Party 8, and everyone can play it just fine, although there is a bit of a learning curve in the beginning if you have younger kids. As with pretty much all things Mario, there's nothing offensive, language wise. Lots of cartoonish violence though, but no one really gets "hurt."
