Anyone else hyped for this next month? I'm a big fan of the Gothic games and this looks like another great one. Yeah G3 sucked until the community patch, but it was rushed out by the corporate overlords. Risen seems to have few bugs and keeps the good old Gothic exploration gameplay. I was very interested in this till about two hours ago when I read a Gamefaqs thread incorporating some footage/screenshots that, all things considered, looked really really poor. Now I'm hesitant; it could be the greatest game ever but I have no interest in playing something that looks like it belongs on a ps2 these days. So I'm hoping for some 360 version reviews real soon and given it's out friday i'm not pleased there have been none so far.

I got interested in Risen based on setting alone. Something about fantasy set on a mysterious and exotic tropical island sounded really cool to me.

Then I watched some of the gameplay videos and discovered it sports the usual fare of gnomes, ogres and skeletons and I was very disappointed. You have a fantastical tropical island to work with and this is all you can come up with?
