Hey, everybody, I'm back, and I bring my horrible curse with me. I've had to have my computer wiped, so unless there's a record of my teams anywhere, I'm gonna have to start over. Update me on what's been happening, please!

Hey Leumas, welcome back :)

look over the last couple pages for the new website.. the good thing with the new site is our teams are centrally stored, so you can always get it from the website.

I'm heading out for a bit, but if you want a game later, let me know.

Leu, check if your team is on the new website. If it isn't, I'll scrounge the old one and see if I can import it.

Just create an account on the new site with your RPG.net login as the account name, go to "Manage Teams", and see if you have any teams to manage.

You can also create new teams there if you want.

Hiya,

My team, Masters of Mithril, needs some help. The story goes like this.

I played a game, and forgot to set the extra MVP check in the app. So, I used the forum bot to generate a number and manually added the MVP in the xml results file. I uploaded the XML file, and two things happened.

a) The player (player 10) can't access Agility skills.

b) The player now has a niggling.

Now, I found out that I had added the XMP MVP entry in the wrong order.....before casualties.....I don't know if this had anything to do with it.

I know the niggling may be because he failed his ageing roll, but it may not. I thought I'd check to see if there was any way to find out.

Cheers

I did a whoopsie.

Uploaded wrong game results.

The attached file is the one which was uploaded, and which needs to be removed.

I have not spent any money, selected skills, etc... since the game.

Blasted forums ate my response. Short version:

-As long as your player number matched the number the site output for that player for that game, the order you list player experience in the XML doesn't matter.

-Unless you typed "{effect}n{/effect}" into the XML, yes that's an aging result. The site's code only has two places where it changes your injuries: when it reads that line in the XML results, or when it's making an aging roll.
[edit- those curly braces should be pointy brackets, but the forum won't let me use them 'cause those are HTML tag indicators]

-The Agility thing is a bug I had known about but forgotten. I'll try to fix it tonight, but for now if you post the player name and what skill you want to give him I can add it manually so you can use him with the skill in the meantime.

[edit- Also, to help me try to fix that Agility thing: have you EVER successfully given a High Elf an Agility skill using the website? If so, whom?]

Ok, that should be fixed. You can upload the correct set of results now.

NOOOO!!! oh well.....

I have successfully given '13 Spiritmane ' Dodge last skill. He's a LionWarrior. I haven't given a Agility skill to a lineman as yet.

ps...Wanted, one Chaos Warrior, to take the place of Ageing Elf Freak. Must have own helmet, and have dislike for Skaven and Lizards. Attractive remuneration package and all the elf-maidens he can handle. Apply to: Masters of Mithril

You think that's bad? On my now-retired human team, back before the website, I had a blitzer age for -1 AV at 6 SPP. Of course, I think Leumas had one of his guys get -1 ST on his first aging roll...

Yeah, well, I'm just a bit bitter, cause a fair chunk of my gameplan relies on him. A STR 4 elf is a godsend. Now, I'm gunna have to work out a way to combat those strength teams without him...sigh...

Well, the no-Agility thing has eluded me for tonight. I did fix a small series of bugs relating to Chaos Marauders, though. If you need any more players edited to add a skill in, for now just post it and I'll do it.

Thanks Delor,

Well, if I'm going to get some more skills, I'm gunna need some more games, aren't I?

NOTE TO ALL: I will be home and online in T-3.5 hours, give or take 30 mins. Would 'like' a game with Olden's Golden, but will take whatever's available.

Hiya fight fans!

Feel free to look up a newbie to get some SPPs from :D

I'm, operating at GMT and am on infrequently. BUT apart from those minor obstacles, this should run like clockwork.
I hope to get some games under my belt some time and enjoy it all.

See you around!

Greetings all,

I'd like to open discussion concerning the Old world team. Four games in, and things aren't shaping up too badly, but I can see some problems arrising later on.

Firstly, the Wardancer I've chosen. In three games (The first game he didn't get an SPP...darn Mummies) he's racked up 28 SPP, and my entire gameplay depends upon him.

....and that's the problem. One slip, and I will have to re-invent how I play my team entirely. Either he gets a niggling, or is killed and I have to take a rookie Wardancer.

I' m beginning to think that I may have to dump my Human Thrower in exchange for a Catcher, to at least give me another speedy scoring option. However, this then rules out the passing game.

My other option is to keep going the way I am, and hope that the Wardancer remains unscathed long enough for me to try and develope a couple of the Human Linemen as scorers.....using doubles (eeek!) for Catch, Dodge, etc.

What are people's thoughts?

Sorry for being a nit-picker, but the Unholy Union have a Dark Elf thrower.....I can't see Dark Elf in the allies for either versions of the Chaos Pact list.

An error?

Definately an error. Not quite sure where I got the idea they could recruit Dark Elves from. I'll recycle the thrower into gold, I guess, and check to see if the site lets me hire DEs or I hired him pre-site.

[edit- whoops. the site has Dark Elves as allies, but not Chaos. Or something; it's messed up. I'm too tired right now to fix it, but since I'm the only Chaos Pact team at the moment I just won't field them 'till I fix it.]

Alas, my teams are gone. If ya wanna try and scrounge up the Doomrats, that'd be cool, delor. The other teams can stay in whatever hellpit they've ended up in. We all know my luck with them.

Anyway, hopefully I'll be playing soon.

Hello everybody,

I'm back after a lengthy vacation and I´m ready to start playing again. :)

Read through the tread and checked the new website, looks very cool.

Attaching my three teams in a zip.

Sure, I'll dig them up. It might be a day or two, though; I just moved back up to school and I'm a tad busy at the moment.

Ok, pain in the ass I know, but...
I got some time to really study what was going on. The result, a new improved team the Warpstone Wanderers.
((My previous team Desperate Decay have all retired to become media pundits and advertise crisps) i.e. I would have deleted the team but couldn't off the iceshadow webby))
Fresh out of the Chaos Wastes the Warpstone Wanderers have attracted a large following due to their appearances on the improvised Bloodbowl fields of the chaos wastes in the Northeren Kislev Empire.
During a lull in the constant fighting someone resembling an Old Worlder Paul McCartney decided to create two teams from the opposing sides to play an impromptu game of Bloodbowl.
So good was the resulting win on the Imperial's moral, the tradition was carried on with whatever poor s-o-b general was shunted up to the wastes, if only to provide a diversion and prevent his troops from mutinying.
However, the forces of Chaos take this very seriously and the Warpstone Wanderers are the result of this tradition. A mix of races, skills and temperaments, this young team have not tried to kill each other and thus stand a good chance of making a name for themselves. They look forward to their next battle!

*I have next week (1-9-03 to 7-9-03) off work. I am on GMT, being from the UK. I am busy in the middle of this week, but hopefully I will have some spare time to play BB if you want...
I am sorry but I am not clear on if I have joined a league midseason. And if I have, have a fegged everything up? If there is a chance, please enter WW in the league, as I am eager to shed some new blood ( and not play against myself on the stand alone games) :)

delor
08-29-2003, 10:03 PM
At the moment, there is no "season" as such; the site doesn't track game history. You just create a team on the site and play. (side note, Chaos Pact and some of the other teams with "allies" are borked at the moment, so don't create one unless you really want to and if you do make sure you don't break the listed rules for such teams even if the site lets you)

So yeah, you joining messes up nothing. Just play and have fun. Hopefully I'll be adding "season" support in the future, but even then it'll be an open league where you play whoever's available within some restrictions (probably the maximum 2 games per team rule we had in season 1). So even then new joiners shouldn't mess up anything; they just probably won't be involved in the finals.

Leumas, the Doomrats have been added to the roster. If you log in under the account you created, you should see them under "Manage Teams" now and be able to manage and use them. If there're any problems, just post here.

Hazahnis

Oops I fell for the Chaos Pact-Dark Elf ally too.
Guess I'll have to go for a Norse thrower instead and spend the remaining 20K on after match parties.

delor
08-31-2003, 05:29 PM
You have your money back, and the thrower is gone.

I'll try to fix Chaos Pact tonight, but until I do I'd appreciate it if nobody made any more Chaos Pact teams.

Why did you create two Nurgle's Rotter's teams? In either case, you have a talent for picking broken teams 'cause thier Rot ability doesn't work at the moment. If your Beast kills someone I can give you a new rotter after-the-fact if you post the results here, at least.

delor
08-31-2003, 05:51 PM
With any luck, Chaos Pact should now hire people properly.

Hazahnis
08-31-2003, 07:42 PM
First, thanks Stilgar for setting that game up. I can forgive you the two fatalities (escaped the third through undead and regenerate lol) ;)

And delor, thanks for sorting out my Chaos pact team Warpstone Wanderers, who are now ready to play.
Desperate Decay were exactly that..Desperate and have now decayed. Please totally delete the team. :p

Just one question...
Is there any way to use the team creation program on the iceshadow site purely for the purpose of making one off teams not to be entered on the team roster?

delor
09-01-2003, 03:39 PM
Check out TeamEdit at the JavaBowl site (http://home.austin.rr.com/javabbowl/). It'll create teams that should work for the Java application and it's what we used in Season One. It doesn't actually enforce any of the rules, so you have to know what you're creating, but if you have the Living Rulebook or a list of the teams with you you can make teams by hand with it.

(actually, that's a link to a mirror of the site, since the official site (http://javabbowl.no-ip.org/) 's down due to bandwidth issues)

Proving yet further that my technician is useless, I found my team, hiding way in the back. Last time I ask him to do anything... Anyway, here it is. I'll play whenever I get time between school, sleep, and Exalted.

Was the version I put on the site not right or something? (or did you miss that post?) I've already entered the Doomrats to the new site using the version from Iceshadow's old site.

LeumasWhite
09-04-2003, 10:33 PM
