Hi everybody out there!
I'm Max Bertolini, fantasy and Sci-fi cover artist from Italy, I'm glad I found a RPG forum for freelancers like me. I hope the right people ( RPG main publishers art directors) will appreciate my pieces, here are a few:

Nice stuff -- though 'black princess' looks a bit too much like Naomi Campbell for my tastes ;)

Because it has to be repeated in bold.
I really love this work, and I feel privilaged to be witness to such great art. I love this forum, because so many talented artists often show their wares for the rest of us to admire.
Do you do freelancer work? (I am assuming so, by reading your post). If so I may be in need of some cover work for one of my books. When I find out if/when that happens, I'll post an artists' call here, and would love to have you in on the bidding.

Beautiful work! Seems to be a bit of that Italian Alessandro Bavari influence happening. Welcome aboard.

Very nice computer work, the images are very powerful. I did notice one weakness in the work and that is the light source in the pictures. It seems to be individual for each figure or object in the piece. If you can unify your light source along with the resulting highlights and shadows, I see a strong future for you in this field

Thanks everybody,
There are a lot of influences in my work. I really loved Vallejo when I was younger and something of it still lies in my art. Growing up I strongly appreciated the work of Wheelan, Parkinson and Giancola.
I usually start my pieces on a paper board, then I scan them and finish on the Mac (Photoshop 7). I use a Wacom tablet and optic (optical?) pen. Using the computer saves a lot of time, this way I can produce many pieces in one month. It would take at least 15 days making an illustration with oil colours (The rapture, here below).
I like Naomi Campbell (Black princess), what's wrong with her ;-))?
The lights in "Death carrier" have different angles, true. But... I try to reach an artistic achievement, and if the lights on different objects teorically don't match but the pictures is good anyway with those particular lights, I don't care about it. A perfect light source is typical of computer generated art, and I don't really like it. Moreover, when you depict a scene with great landscapes, you may expect to find different light sources.
Here are some others pictures from my site, all of them are quite old, two or three years ago. I'll post the new pieces as soon as i up-date my web site, in the next days.

Max,
Just took a look at your web-site... Everybody must look. I7m not a fan of the photo-realistic style, but you've just about converted me. Thank you.
Now, should I switch to digital art?

Well, I think you'll do well for yourself. I'll don my cap to you, sir.
I won't gush, but it looks to me like you're ready to rock.
