Hello, I am Captain Thyrus, I am currently in the production of my own web RPG and am wondering if there are any things I should, and shouldnt do with my RPG. Now though I am a newbie to creating My own RPG universe, im no newbie to creating RPG's. So if there is anything you know (like where are the best places to promote your game, how much you should let your players know, stuff like that...) please tell.

Question: Is this a regular pen and paper rpg that you plan to play online or an actual program (such as a mud) based game?

Half and Half really, Its a web based pen and paper game where players keep track of their characters using online character sheets. This could change though because im still in my early stages..

Basicly all that equates to is a pen and paper rpg run online.
What exactly do you want to know (since I am running a game online currently)?

Here's an interesting business question -- do you plan on making character sheet storage and maintenance a fee service? If so, what keeps people from just keeping them on paper like they normally would?

Yes I do plan on having online character sheets, as for fee service I dont know yet, as I said, im new at this. What keeps players from thier own physical character sheets? Nothing I guess, but it could be a reference to the player as well as the GM and other members of the party.

Well, what I want to know is, where are good places to advertise, who are good sponsors and what are some good webhosts online. Since im doing an online RPG I was wondering if Web RPG was worth using or not, right now I have a trial version and am testing it out, I am aware of one other system, but I was wondering if perhaps there better alternatives as well.

Yeah it could get tricky. However a good way of doing that is using paypal, an online payment system. That way you don't have to wait for money to be sent to you.
