I installed it offa the Freedom Force CD.
I get to "Downloading Service Map", the Freedom Force logo, and a generally white screen- and the thing Not Responds on me and I have no choice but to bug out.
Any suggestions? Why isn't it working... ?

Possibly because it's such an older version. Just go to the web site and download it directly from them, then let it search your computer for compatible software so that it knows you have Freedom Force installed.
See if that helps.

Uninstall it and delete the directory first, of course.

I think it's about 5mb. That could be huge depending on your connection, but even on 56K dialup that's not too bad.

5 MB isn't too bad, so long as I don't have to download the Arcade off the Internet after I download the installer o.O
Kiri, was under the impression it was larger'n that

Is Gamespy Arcade the piece you need to play multiplayer?

Not really. It's Gamespy, which lets you more easily find multiplayer games on the 'net. If you already have folks you want to play with, you can just enter their IP address or host a game like most let you do nowadays.

Well, if you don't have anyone readily available online that plays... :D

Just for the record, I love Freedom Force and I'll take yer butt on anytime. My main problem is finding a hero I've made that doesn't use an obscure custom mesh... :D

Wohoo! I already have an incentive to download that huge chunk of file :D
So far, I'm addicted too. I just need to get ahold of those custom characters and meshes and designers so I can crank out a few meself ^^
