Nice job!
Two thoughts:
1) The way you did the eyes is a little cartoony, which seems out of synch with the rest of the picture. It sort of pulls it back into 2-D, if that makes sense.
2) I hope the elf is sitting on a clump of moss. Splinters in that area would be a doozy. :p

Very nice work, John. I like the trees especially. The character looks good. It looks like you know your anatomy quite well.
Two crits:
The pose is a little odd. Maybe the legs are too spread out? Doesn't look like he's sitting too comfortably.
Also the expression on his face is a little twisted, I think. Maybe lower the mouth a little and adjust the eyes so they don't look cross eyed.
Very good picture on the whole, show it to us when it is inked!

Um, sorry I said he, I didn't look carefully enough to see it's a girl. Not your fault, elves are just confusing like that!:p

Hey defcombeta
Great transition from pencils to inks. Your inks follow your pencils quite well.
Looking forward to seeing the finished piece.

Her breasts are awfully high on her torso. They should drop just a bit more, even if they are "perky".... Her shoulders are awfully broad for a 'broad"...sorry folks, the pun was there....had to go with it.
An arrow is the length of almost an entire arm... an arrow generally gets drawn to the chin or even the ear. Your arrow is WAY too short.
But love the forest, the inks are looking good too!

thank you for the info on the arrow, hmm should have known that , looked up some english longbow men armour and weapons, i wonder how they used them, the amount of strenght to pull the arrow into place  also noted the body parts etc. not sure about the shoulders but ill give it a whirl

The trees look great - the swirly line pattern reminds me a little of fingerprints...anyway, there's a good mix of realism and style - looking forward to the finished piece.
