WizKids has announced that their convention exclusive figure this year will be a 16" tall Galactus figure.

As a scenario, players attempt to drive Galactus away. One of his four dials serves as a timer, which counts down the rounds until Galactus devours their world. He’s scalable to three different difficulty levels.

Galactus is also usable as part of a force. As such, his three “life” dials act as his three experience levels: Starving, Hungry, and Mighty. For 600 points, Starving Galactus has 19 clicks of life, a speed of 14, an attack value of 12, a defense of 19, and begins dishing out 7 clicks of damage with each hit. For a mere 1200 points, Hungry Galactus gains 11 more clicks of life and becomes much more mobile, with a speed of 18. His 8 damage and 20 defense don’t hurt, either. Finally, a paltry 1800 points will put Mighty Galactus on your force. Yup, 11 more clicks of life. His speed of 20, attack value of 16, and defense of 21 will make any mortal shake with fear. And we haven’t even mentioned his powers!

All versions of Galactus have a 16 range with 3 lighting bolts, allowing him to hit opponents near and far. Add to that his team ability, the mighty Power Cosmic. The Power Cosmic lets Galactus push without taking damage, and it protects his powers and abilities from being cancelled, effectively rendering him immune to Outwit.

No way in hell that I'll get one -- I suspect at least $100 for this guy -- but I'm entertained by its very existence.

Yep, he's the MechWarrior dropship of this year's con season.

Fortunately, Envoys (like, say, me) get on the list to get one first if we work a con for WizKids. [I still won't get one, but at least the prospect is there.*8)]

I still say, they should have done this with a pizza-pan sized base strong enough to support a person and a purple foam-rubber Galactus hat.

I promised myself I would finally make it to one of the major cons, and this seals it. I'll be at either Origins or GenCon come hell or high water.

I want.

It'd be fun to take him on with an army of Sentinals or Sinestro constructs (Galactus attacks Qward and they summon Sinestro and amp his power to make an army of yellow energy beings to fight back!).

I'd probably more likely just use a horde of moderately-powered guys if I actually wanted to win, though. Like the Indy guys with a good attack and Blades. That, or a ton of Mystics/Crossgeners and wildcards to hurt him when he attacks (a bunch of Yukios around a Rasputin, enhancing his psychic blast and dealing auto-damage whenever he tries to attack).

Yeah, Galactus is cool and all, but I'm more amped about the Herald Silver Surfer LE. More powerful than the Critical Mass U version, AND the Power Cosmic TA.

I don't play the game, but I am tempted to get the big guy.

I would have to get a Dr. Doom and a Thanos first or else the unopposed Galactus might eat my apartment.

I like Theron's idea. Dress up as a robot, stand on a TV Tray...

"Hi, I'm UNICRON. Click This!"

Doom, maybe. Thanos isn't worth it, though. Worst. Unique. Evar. A deep dial, and nice stats, but only one freakin' superpower (Invulnerability). Feh. I've seen figures half his price that could mop the floor with him.

Personally, I like the Invisible Woman model. It's...just a dial. :D

I thought she had clear plastic or something.... (her rookie version has a model, I'm pretty sure of)

Now, the Atom, there's a dial with no fig.

And Plastic Man's a mailbox...

Invisible Girl/Woman was cast from clear plastic. Rookie (Invisible Girl) is completely painted. Exp (Invisible Woman) is half and half. Vet (Invisible Woman) is completely clear.

The empty base figures are the LE Atom, Yellowjacket, and Ant Man.

Though my favorite for sheer goofiness is still the LE "Mailbox" Plastic Man.

They're making an LE Invisible Woman to go with the LE Silver Surfer and the big G himself, though, which is just the dial.

Ah. Missed that. *sigh* I can already see what we'll be spending a chunk o' change on this summer.

They would bring this out the year I can't make GenCon (or any of the other big cons).

Crap. Gonna have to arrange a pickup.

Luckily, for those of you without a ton of money for an instant 100+ dollar mini(well, its KIND OF a miniature..), there is a nearly as large Galactus action figure out there to be bought, and you can probably find the stats for the big guy after the con season is over. Not as uber collectible and clearly not Wizkids play approved, but if you want to fight with Galactus, its a cheaper way to do so.

And Unicron would still kick his ass, easy.

A) Unicron is a planet eating robot-planet.

B) Galactus eats planets.

C) Galactus would eat Unicron.

End of story.

Galactus drains the life from planets (think of him as eating the creamy center, or one of those bastards who just throws away the cookie part of the oreo). Unicron has no biological life force, and wouldn't care if he lost it if he did.

Unicron would so kick his ass.
