Earthdawn Product Help

I'm relatively new to Earthdawn. I'm trying to track down the 1st edition products that cover the geography of the setting. I've located copies of the Barsaive boxed set and the Theran book. Should I look for any others or do these two do the job? I don't need really specialized info.

Thanks,

Nick

Barsaive Box Set is a nice though often underestimated overview.

Serpent River, Throal, Bloodwood and Caradun (? - the Orc one) all detail provinces but are highly regarded.

Vivane and Parlainth are focussed to one city/location.

Thera has a few fans but is generally immensely disliked.

www.stiggybaby.com had a lot of the first edition product in stock, and they feature some pretty nice discounts, if i recall.

Earthdawn has almways been missing a good Gazateer. The best you are going to find is the little book out of the Barsaive box set- but that is not terribly great and only gives you a general overview- nothing in-depth.

I did find some utility out of the Races of earthdawn books (1 and 2) in helping define the races as well as cover some more geography- but, again, we are talking in generalities.

My suggestion is to bet the Barsaive box set and see what regions you are interested in. From there, grab the boosk that cover that region... thus, if you are interested in the Crystal Mts. get the Sk Raiders book. Interested in the Sepent River? Get the book by the same name.

Personally, I really liked the specific region books. They are all pretty strong and well written.

Also, its Cara Fahd. Orks of Cara Fahd.

The Barsaive boxed set has a decent general overview, but really if you're looking for the best "overall" view of Barsaive, I would recommend the Serpent River sourcebook -- it runs from one corner of the province to the other.

Still, the overall line is excellent, and nearly all of the books contribute to the picture of Barsaive. Get them all!
